Loose notes confirmation dialog

For those of us who obsessively have to categorize everything, there could be a preference setting to require confirmation in order to save a 'loose note.'

...And/or the Loose Notes folder's number-of-notes indicator (in the left-hand column) could turn red or something when the number goes above zero (i.e. you've saved a note without specifying a case).

Also, perhaps there should

Also, perhaps there should be a confirmation dialog for saving a note without any prompt or content. Or it shouldn't let you save it at all. Because sometimes I'll be in a lesson, and come across a blank. (Trust me: I don't make blanks on purpose. I'm just goofy.) Blank slides are sort of annoying. At least you can easily delete them from within the slide show.

Ooops...

Actually, I don't think there is a way to specify a case, when you create a note. (unless you already have a specific case selected. In which 'case' (no pun intended), the note will be created within that case.) You have to create the note, then drag and drop it into a case afterwards. Would it surprise you to know that I wish that you could categorize a note while creating it, just like in Finder, when you create files?

Categorize a note?

I'm not sure what you mean here. The way MC works now, you select the case you want the note to appear in, and add it. This is the same as in finder, where you choose the folder you want the file to be in.

Note also that if you create quick notes, you can choose a case from a popup button.

Sorry. I wasn't very clear.

True. I think what I was getting at was that you should be able to choose a case while creating a note in the main window (just like you can do in the quick notes window, as you mentioned). As you also mentioned, in the main window, you can choose a case before creating a note, and the note will be created in that case. But you can't choose a case while creating a note. So if you decide to create a note, in the main view, and don't start thinking about what case you want it to end up in until you've already started working on the note itself, then you have to remember to drag and drop that already-created note into the desired case, afterwards.
Hope that's clearer. In any case, I'm nitpicking here. It's really not a big deal, given the features you mentioned in your reply.

I get it

I see what you mean. I just worry a bit that it could be confusing. Perhaps it would be better if you were allowed to pick a different case while you were editing...
